Michael (Mike) Hoffman Mike Hoffman was named principal of Mary B. Neal Elementary School in 2024. Prior to being named principal at Neal, Hoffman served as principal of Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School for three years and vice principal of Billingsley Elementary School for two years. Hoffman helped open Billingsley to the public in Fall and also served as a vice principal at Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer Elementary School. Before entering the world of school administration, Hoffman was a Learning Resource Teacher at Dr. Gustavus Brown Elementary School. In this role, he worked with students that were receiving gifted services, coordinated all state and county testing, as well as helped lead technology initiatives. Prior to his time at Dr. Brown, Hoffman was a teacher at William A. Diggs Elementary School. He joined Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) in 2006 after relocating to the area from outside of Philadelphia. Mr. Hoffman resides in La Plata with his wife and two children. Throughout his CCPS career, Hoffman has led summer programs in Charles County, was nominated for math teacher of the year as well as technology educator of the year, and was part of the standard-setting committee for state testing with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). Mr. Hoffman has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Penn State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from McDaniel College. |
